I Got 99 Problems but Independence Ain’t One

If you’re having guerrilla problems, I feel bad for you son.

I fell asleep on the one-hour flight from Entebbe to Juba and when I looked out the window, we were descending into the infant 193rd country: South Sudan. So, this image at top was my introduction to the Caesarian birth of a nation. It’s funny because after you land, Juba looks uncannily like San Francisco. I mean, it’s eerie.
