Cardamom’s the Word

Well, coriander actually, but I keep calling it cardamom because I’m an idiot. But call it cilantro or coriander, it was not to be found in the market today, sadly. This woman is only looking at Julie with evident concern because Julie had begun to sob in despair over the elusive herb. But I’m learning that sometimes in Juba you need to make compromises when preparing a Mexican dinner for friends.

This is not the prettiest part of Juba, but it is a dirt road, a boy, and corrugated metal, of which there are much.
