Smell This

I think Anubis is messing with my ankh again.

Behold. A secret pillar room.

After an 18-hour bus ride, we arrived in Luxor this morning, making it to Luxor Temple for the late afternoon and evening.

Although Luxor Temple (above) in many ways looks like photos (amazing and all but as expected), what I found overwhelming is the extent of the hieroglyphics. They’re everywhere. Couldn’t you leave a little bar of rock maybe for notes later on?

And the fact that the code wasn’t cracked until (relatively) recently. I’m guessing there were Egyptologists who were way the hell off. I hope they were mocked savagely by their peers.

The decorators finish their initial run through.
