Soviets on Silk Street

It turns out the south is not the north.

An 11-hour drive over two 3,000m+ passes and I arrived into the 2500-year-old city of Osh—bazaar town at the crossroads of at least three avenues of the ancient Silk Road, remote stomping ground of Alexander’s army, seat of Babur (founder of the Moghul emperor and author of children’s elephant books),and home to the B’Gosh fortune.

Take a look at the complete Osh photo set on Flickr.
