And the Russians Came. And Built Houses.

Way back when, the Russians came to Karakol, on the eastern shore of Lake Issyk Kul. Why not, a good place for a holiday fort in Central Asia. Then there were the Soviets. They made concrete and named things after Lenin.

The Soviets are gone, but there are still a lot of Russians and buildings too.

Oh, there were also Tatars.
